You know what's weird? (Apart from the fact that they apparently couldn't find a razor for James McAvoy. SO VERY WRONG. This will not make it any easier for me to get past his failure to be Patrick Stewart.)

In the late nineties when I got online, there was no Xavier/Magneto fic on the entire internet. I know, because I looked really, really hard. Now I watch this trailer and I see a juggernaut of a pairing that is about to crash down on fandom. I wish I had a time machine and could go tell my seventeen-year-old self that some day she would get all the pr0n she could read *g*.

Also: finally, I can make the vid that's been in my head since 2001, that absolutely required flashbacks! Even if it means mixing universes and in the flashbacks Charles has hair. WTF.

I wrote a Xavier/Magneto fic in 1996! It wasn't very good, but I did! And yes, I'm very excited about this trailer.

Good Friends got posted on the X-Men slash archive in 1998, though? Unless that's when I found the X-Men slash archive. I know the year, because I remember vividly the day I first read the story *g*. Can tell you which university computer lab I was in and everything.

I now feel confident that I will enjoy it even if it is awful, simply based on the eyefucking completely platonic staring and the fic that is going to result from it. Also, Rose Byrne is playing Moira. I just hope she gets something to do other than stand around attempting to prove to the audience that, no, really, everyone in this film is completely heterosexual.

It really does look stupidly spiffy. I admit when they announced the casting there might have been a bit of an eyebrow raise but seeing them all in motion has sold me!

It is very shiny, and while McAvoy and Fassbender are not Stewart and McKellen, I think I can put up with them somehow *g*.

Is it terrible that having Azazel and Mystique (presumably) having a romance makes me kinda hope for a baby Nightcrawler cameo? Everything is cuter with fuzzy little elves!

It is awful, but I will just have to put up with it somehow! Sometimes after you 'ship something for seventeen years the rest of fandom finally catches up. (Not that there wasn't fic after the other movies, but if this trailer is representative of the film's content I am expecting a tsunami.)

I hadn't thought of that, but I bet you're right. I can't think of a reason to put Azazel in the film unless they're planning to bring this up. (Unless the plot desperately needed at teleporter for some reason, I guess.)

The pretty will help a lot with that, the Inception fandom has proved that looking good in suits will produce some really awesome fic. You'd best watch out for fics that are pretty much "Ooo Mr. Lehnsherr" but anything at all is really awesome in small fandoms! *curses her many 2-fics-and-a-dead-comm fandoms*

This does not surprise me. It seemed as though everyone was already convinced they were an item by the first three movies. Now they're being played by actors who are under forty, I predict that nothing will hold back all of fandom from writing piles and piles of fic.

Apparently people keep asking the director if he's going to be in it anyway. He has shown great restraint in not hitting them with sticks for asking stupid questions, IMHO. I mean, Logan could have twenty second cameo somewhere like Charles had in Wolverine, but he can't be part of the main action.
