X-Men: First Class trailer here.
You know what's weird? (Apart from the fact that they apparently couldn't find a razor for James McAvoy. SO VERY WRONG. This will not make it any easier for me to get past his failure to be Patrick Stewart.)
In the late nineties when I got online, there was no Xavier/Magneto fic on the entire internet. I know, because I looked really, really hard. Now I watch this trailer and I see a juggernaut of a pairing that is about to crash down on fandom. I wish I had a time machine and could go tell my seventeen-year-old self that some day she would get all the pr0n she could read *g*.
Also: finally, I can make the vid that's been in my head since 2001, that absolutely required flashbacks! Even if it means mixing universes and in the flashbacks Charles has hair. WTF.

Date: 2011-02-11 12:26 pm (UTC)Okay, so it's not going to have most of my favourites, but did you see Beast? Beast transforming confirm/deny? Emma! Mystique! Internal consistency with its own timeline?! (overly optimistic, I know) Magneto in yellow spandex (kevlar?)!!! Xavier with hair! (I wonder if he'll lose it by the end credits?)
This is going to be sooo much better than Wolverine Origins. *glees*

Date: 2011-02-11 01:22 pm (UTC)I sense a midnight screening in our future. (I realise you have to work on Thursdays, but maybe they could give you the day off for a new X-Men film? It's practically a geek religious holiday!)

Confirm! He definitely starts out non-furry and we see him turning blue and he's furry when flying the Blackbird.

It could happen!
Magneto in yellow spandex (kevlar?)!!!
I dig the uniforms - very Grant Morrison New X-Men era with the black and yellow and the kevlar.
Xavier with hair! (I wonder if he'll lose it by the end credits?)
If I were a betting woman, I would lay money against Charles having his hair, the use of his legs, or his 'best friend' by the end of the film.

It has Magneto lifting a submarine! Nothing Wolverine does can compete with that.

Poor, poor Charles. He has to suffer for his dream. You're probably right, though that would rule them out of doing a second prequel.
And this is like the only movie they flat-out *can't* put Wolverine in without looking very silly. It looks like Charles and Erik are doing Many Epic Things. I have one word, and that word is SQUEEEE~!

Safety is very important when you're going to be flying fighter planes and lifting submarines!

Good point. Maybe he'll lose his hair in this movie and then end up in the wheelchair in the next one. These movies never end well for him, do they?

Apparently people keep asking the director if he's going to be in it anyway. He has shown great restraint in not hitting them with sticks for asking stupid questions, IMHO. I mean, Logan could have twenty second cameo somewhere like Charles had in Wolverine, but he can't be part of the main action.

*squees with you and X-Men fangirls everywhere*
