The pretty will help a lot with that, the Inception fandom has proved that looking good in suits will produce some really awesome fic. You'd best watch out for fics that are pretty much "Ooo Mr. Lehnsherr" but anything at all is really awesome in small fandoms!
X-Men isn't small so much as dead, but I have a good feeling about this revitalising it. I will certainly take an increase in bad fic in exchange for the good fic! I cannot imagine that a movie where Charles and Erik wear awesome suits while reclinging on a bed at a stip club together will not result in pr0n.
On the first watch though I had to go and look up the wiki page to make sure they hadn't snuck Nightcrawer in with timeline shenanigans. The teleport effect is so perfectly redone from X-Men 2 I felt like i'd been a inattentive fangirl and missed the casting!
I was completely distracted by other things and didn't even notice the teleporting until I saw other people pointing it out *g*.
