The other day, I was explaining Good Old Games to someone IRL, and promised I would post a link here. Since there may be other people out there who could be interested in it, a brief blurb.

Good Old Games is exactly what it sounds like: an on line shop that sells old PC games. Everything is provided via download, updated so that the software works with Windows XP/Vista (and probably Windows 7 as well, for all I know, although I don't think they officially support it yet.)

It's a great place for people who have been playing for a long time - scarily enough I've been PC gaming more than half my life, and was a Commodore 64 devotee before that - and are nostalgic for the games they used to have. It's also a great place to catch up on important pieces of video gaming history or obscure classics that you may have missed. I'm mainly into adventure games and RPGs myself (Tex Murphy! Gabriel Knight! The Realms of Arkania Northlands Trilogy!) but they have all sorts of stuff.

They also have the advantage of being cheap - many games are priced at $5.99 US and nothing is over $9.99. A couple are even available for free. They have regular sales and combination deals, as well.

All in all, their catalogue is a great resource for bringing games of the past to today's players. I endorse them whole-heartedly.
