Doctor Who: Farewell, Sarah Jane

andraste(I am spoiler cutting this so you can go and watch it now. Well worth thirteen minutes of your time. Plus however long it takes you to stop crying.)
1. OH MY GOD TEGAN/NYSSA IS ENDGAME!!! Well, I hope someone, somewhere in the wilds of the extended universe is going to do something with that. Especially since Big Finish brought Nyssa back only go give her such a horrible new ending. Obviously 'she moved to Australia and set up house with Tegan' is much better, however many questions it raises about how she got there.
2. ... and Luke married Sanjay! Good old Rusty, back to gay up the Whoniverse as much as possible.
3. Everyone came to Sarah's funeral, obviously. Or at least everyone who was anywhere near the relevant time and place with their memory intact + Ace. I grinned so much at the ex-companion network of 21st century Earth dubbing themselves the Smith Family and staying in touch.
4. 'Everyone' includes Ian and Barbara! I guess they truly are immortal <3. Also Grace, which was a lovely surprise because I know her rights can be tricky.
5. Martha and Mickey have a kid!
6. Ace keeps K-9 <3 <3 <3.
7. My headcanon about Clyde becoming a famous comics artist came true!!!
8. Jo continues to be an absolute treasure and also menace to vases everywhere.
All in all, that was absolutely lovely and a fitting tribute.

Date: 2020-04-21 05:24 am (UTC)I was reminiscing last week (in regard to The Satan Pit) about his ability to get a character across in just a few lines, and it was demonstrated here all over again.
Including ending it with Rani's theory!
At first I was hoping for a Doctor appearance of some kind, but I love that not having any of them appear leaves the door open in the most perfect way. (My headcanon is that the Curator and his Sarah Jane are out there somewhere in the stars, and always will be.)
