The Wolverine

I am both pleased and disappointed that, over the time this film has been out, not a single person has said 'Andraste, you have to see this film RIGHT NOW. And stay until the credits.' So I was delightfully surprised by ... uh. The thing that was surprising.
Here is the noise I wanted to make at the end of the film: EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! I somehow managed to remain silent, although I did physically wave my arms around and punch the air, from the moment I glimpsed the hat behind Wolverine all the way to the end of the scene.
I mean, I enjoyed the film itself (especially Yukio, Mariko and Logan with his shirt off) but the last two minutes were, predictably, my favourite bit. MY BEST BELOVED IS ALIVE! And has apparently teamed up with his ex. Awwwwwww. (I mean, what Magneto did at the end of X2 was horrible, but I can see Charles deciding that life is too short and it would be useful to have the guy with magnetic powers on side if he's going to be fighting giant robots. And yes, I know I need to write that post-X3 story about Charles and Raven.)
I'm guessing there are time-travel shenanigans involved, because why else would Charles be in the wheelchair still? And why can I not watch Days of Future Past TODAY?
... this is exactly like that time I watched No Surrender, No Retreat and spent a whole post arm-waving about Londo and G'Kar having a drink together, isn't it?
So, the other thing I thought about the film was that Logan should take Yukio straight to New York and introduce her to Storm, because now that Yukio exists in this universe, I 'ship them despite their not having met.

Although, like yourself, I want Yukio and Storm taking over the world.
