So, over the last couple of weeks, I have been mainlining Orphan Black. I got to the finale slightly after the rest of the internet, and all I have to say is HOW CAN THEY EXPECT US TO WAIT UNTIL 2014??????

Well, no, that's not all I have to say. Here are some other things.

- If you like science fiction thrillers (and can deal with some graphic dismemberment and identity related dub-con sex) you should watch this. Yesterday. Especially if you like your science fiction with female protagonists. Don't look up the details or spoil yourself for the premise, just watch it.

- I am half-convinced that Tatiana Maslany actually is seven different people. Her performances are uncanny.

- I could have done without Amelia being fridged as soon as she arrived, but the series finale was otherwise excellent. The show made great use of its ten episodes; a lot of series don't jam that much plot into twenty-four.

- COSIMA, NOOOOOOOOO! YOU ARE MY FAVOURITE! DON'T DIE! I must spend the rest of the year reminding myself that Katja may have been sick, but it was Helena that killed her. And apparently that won't be a problem any more. (Although, it is mighty interesting that Katja was sick and Cosima is sick, while Kira is fine after the car accident and Helena survived that rebar to the liver remarkably well. Hmmmm.)

- I am horrified and curious to see where Alison's forays into ... manslaughter? Is it manslaughter if the death is an accident but you could have prevented it by flicking a switch? ... take her and us. But most of all I wish for more interaction between Felix and Alison, and between Felix and Alison's kids. (He is the best gay uncle in the world.)

- ... and also between Felix and Sarah. Basically what I'm saying is: MORE FELIX PLEASE.

- Sarah, I love you. Female protagonists should be as messed up and spikey as you are more often. (And I mean that in a fond way.)

- ... but your taste in men is awful. Given Donnie and Chad, I am starting to wonder if it's genetic. (Cosima's taste in women seems slightly better, but still ill-advised.) Vic is the only character I hope we never see again, and I still don't trust Paul as far as I could throw him.

- Not that there are a lot of trustworthy people in this show. Am intrigued to find out what's up with Mrs. S. I don't think it can be quite as simple as her being Sarah's monitor.

- I spent the whole series feeling bad for Art - as far as we can tell, he's the only person who really cared about Beth as a person. He deserves to find out what was really going on, so I hope he doesn't vanish next season.

- I would love to know exactly how many clones there are, even a ballpark figure. Are there a dozen? A hundred? Packing them too densely seems like a risk on the part of the experimenters - Beth and Alison are both Canadian (presumably) but I guess they could have been born on opposite coasts.

- I would also like to know more about Alison's birth family, and Cosima's. And Beth's, for that matter.

Internet has me covered! I have however been totally distracted by Twin Peaks so it might be a bit until I get back to Orphan Black. ^^o
