This is one of the many reasons I <3 Colin Baker and why I am sad whenever someone says that David Tennant was the first fanboy to play the role. Baker wrote The Age of Chaos back in the eighties, and if penning comics about your Doctor and his talking penguin companion isn't being a fanboy, I don't know what is.
This does not in anyway diminish the adorableness of David Tennant's fanboying, though. Someone should arrange for Colin and David to fanboy at the same time - maybe there could be an anthology with that story Matt Smith wrote.
The Age of Chaos was not bad at all, so these stories will probably not be joining the list of reasons why actors should not always be encouraged to write their own characters. (Paul Darrow, I am looking at you.)
