Doctor Who: Amy's Choice

That felt slightly flat to me, probably because I worked out both twists - that the Dream Lord was the Doctor and that both scenarios were dreams - in the first ten minutes. Either I was feeling particularly sharp this afternoon or Simon Nye and I are on the same psychic wavelength. I also found that switching between the two realities made the threat in each seem less urgent, and neither got much development or a proper resolution.

However! The character stuff was nifty and I did enjoy seeing (what might as well have been) the Valeyard again after all this time. Would be happy to have Toby Long back as the evil future Doctor any time. Seven out of ten from me over all.

What I'm really twitchy about is next week. On the one hand: SILURIANS. On the other hand: Chris Chibnall. He did produce some more than decent scripts for Tochwood Season Two, but I haven't forgotten his Season One episodes or 42.

After Warriors of the Deep, the Silurians deserve a good story. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed.
