All right, so feeling all inspired by my VividCon disks, I've started planning out a multifandom slash vid I've had in mind for a while now. But I need more source!

So, I ask you, what are your favourite slashy moments in your favourite TV shows and movies? And when I say 'slashy' I mean things that even clueless fanboys look at and say 'dude, that is pretty gay!' Perfect example: the 'buddy breathing' in due South. I especially need femslash moments, because I am much less good at spotting/remembering those compared with teh boyslash.

([livejournal.com profile] lokisrose, that scene I couldn't find yesterday? Has been staring right at me from a show we watch. I am an idiot for not thinking of it sooner.)

It's been a long time since I've watched things with actors as opposed to drawings.

There's Rodney collapsing onto John's bed (and John's arms) with candles everywhere in the SGA episode 'The Tao of Rodney'. At least I think it's that one, it's a scene I've only ever seen vidded, not the original source.

As much as I think there ought to be something you could use out of 'House', I'm not sure if that wouldn't be more slashy in the dialogue than the action, and thus, not useful for your purposes.

As for femmeslash, I can't think of anything aside from Joss Whedon shows, but I think female characters get to have homosocial interactions much less often than male characters. But, again, I don't watch much that isn't drawn these days.

See also the Lilah/Faith scene in the limo in Angel: Five By Five, in which the director supposedly had to order the actors not to be so slashy. In reference to a later comment, I think Susan/Talia in B5 is too close to canon lesbianism to get in a slash vid.

Femmeslash moments that immediately come to mind: Buffy and Faith dancing in "Bad Girls", season 3 (can't go wrong with the classics), Sydney and Anna duking it out in the blouse shop in season 4 (even though Syd strikes me as essentially straight, that one really brings on the not so sub text).

And while we're talking Alias: must mention the Arvin takes a bullet for Jack moment from season 3's breakdown as well as their season 4 conversation in the men's room.*g*

Londo/G'Kar: what isn't? Well, The Best Scene Ever comes immediately to mind, followed by their prison cell stuff.

More entries to come.

Part II

Giles and Ethan: doesn't get slashier than drinking together; the "to magic" toast, of course.

Spike and Angel: the teaser for "Destiny" from season 5, in which there's posturing and handholding and Angelus asking whether it makes him a deviant to want some variation between Dru and Darla. Nice visual with the boys holding out their hands to burn, too.

More femme slash:
Talia and Susan in "Divided Loyalties", the scene with Talia in her bathrobe.

Kira and Intendant Kira, aka Nana Visitor managing UST with herself, in the first DS9 mirrorverse episode.

Darla and Dru in either "Reunion" (the scene where they go from Darla beating the hell out of Dru to embracing, with the truck driver telling them to make out elsewhere and becoming Darla's first meal.

Newest obsession:

Hiro and Ando: anything will do, but why not pick the hug from "Parasite"?

Sylar and Mohinder: the S/M session from the same episode provides ample material, especially for an audience who likes torture scenes.

And, err. Not sure whether you want any Italian scenes (probably not), but just in case you do: the kiss from Godsend or the "Simone's dead, can we have some subtext for comfort, please?" scene from "Parasite" come to mind.

and how could I forget?

The Phonecall. Also the death scene, of course, but if this is meant as something more lighthearted, the phonecall with the Master making an orgasmic face when he says "Doctor" and the Doctor asking him out on a date pleading via phone in front of a "Saxon is your man" poster should do nicely.

and then there is...

..."get back to your position", as well as other delicious Blake/Avon scenes. You might use the one from "Duel" in series 1 where they clutch each other while Travis shoots at the Liberator and argue without stopping the clutching. Or Blake falling on his knees when finding there is no computer in Earth's secret command center and Avon promptly kneeling down next to him and holding him.

I am sorely tempted to go with the conversation in the men's room, simply because - conversation! In the men's room!

Exactly! And easily identifiable as same! And Jack slamming Sloane against the wall!

Parasite really *is* the slashiest episode of all time isn't it?

No kidding.

It's possible some, er, Italian moments may sneak in there somehow. It may not be my personal cup of tea, but it's so popular with fandom at large that I may end up throwing the fans a bone *g*.

You are a generous person, and I applaud you for it.

Incidentally, did you ever see The Mind of Evil? It pretty much originated the art of slashy Doctor/Master phone calls *g*.

A certain community still has not accepted me back, and thus I am without a source for it, which frustrates me to no end!

In summary, thank you so much for your suggestions!

You're welcome!

Are you going all live-action?

Also, if you want something totally obscure, GGBG includes Marcus Graham being hit on by a famous Australian actor (although I can't for the life of me remember which one XD ) in an all-male sauna. I can't remember which ep it is, though; would have to look it up. I don't know how well it would translate to vidding, though; IIRC, most of it was verbal. :/

I'll have to get back to you on f/f; FS was the only one that sprang to mind, and that's already been mentioned. I think Six Feet Under might've had a little, but it's been so long that I can't remember.

It's funny: people always complain about how men objectify lesbians, and yet it's difficult finding f/f material.

The personal space invasion scene (http://www.sundive.co.uk/lifeonmars/images/ep2/Image17.jpg) from Life on Mars, or the swimming trunks, or the one where Gene walks in to find Sam handcuffed naked to the bed.

Pretty much the entire run of Torchwood, though I don't know if that even counts.

I'm sure someone else will list all the Petrellicest moments, so I'm going to go for Mohinder/Peter:

- The reunion at the end of 5 Years Gone: "Mohinder." "Peter?!" With the staring ZOMG.

- The eyesex during the Peter/Sylar fight in 0.07%, followed by Mohinder's panic at Peter's death.

- The eyesex in the rearview mirror in the pilot. If you can get hold of the extended, unaired version of the pilot, there is a *lot* more staring from Mohinder when Peter gets out of the cab and walks away.

Okaaay, femslash...

B5 - the scene in Susan's quarters the morning after in Divided Loyalties, the one at the bar in Midnight, or them sitting down in Race. There's also the Susan/Delenn hairdressing in Soul Mates and the hug in SiL if you want some variety.

Trek - Odan kissing Beverly's wrist in The Host, or the Jadzia/other Trill I can't remember kiss in Rejoined. Or you know, any time Janeway looks at Seven: particularly Janeway fixing Seven's implant in one episode or Seven pinning on Janeway's pips in another. Or the shuttle scene in The Voyager Conspiracy. Or the mother of all uber scenes, dyke!Janeway and Seven in The Killing Game.

BtVS - someone alread said Buffy and Faith dancing in season 3. Faith kissing Buffy, which is also season three. Obviously, anything Willow/Tara or Willow/Kennedy is a good choice.

Xena - pretty much anything, especially the kisses in The Quest, The Ring trilogy, A Family Affair, A Friend In Need (and others I can't remember) or the other uber subtexty scenes: hand holding in One Against An Army , dancing in Heart of Darkness, anything you care to choose from When Fates Collide, the cave scene from The Abyss, the birthday poem from Many Happy Returns, or you know, I could go on. ;)

Firefly, Inara and her female client. Didn't Saffron use her lipstick of doom on the female crew, too? Inara and Nandi may have been slashy, though I can't recall the particulars.

Dark Angel's canonical lesbian, Original Cindy. She and Max did the sexy bad girl look together early in the first season, and OC had a background relationship in the first season, and a full ep devoted to her ex-girlfriend in the second (?)

Brigitte and Ginger of Ginger Snaps have lots of slashy moments (Brigitte straddling Ginger as she pierces her bellybutton; Ginger during the "we're hardly even related anymore" speech.)

I'm sure Rose and Martha both had a few small momets with guest characters.

I don't know that there's a good sourch of quality video, but Big Wolf on Campus is slashy as all hell. See the first season, second episode for m/m neck biting.

From new BSG: pretty much the entirety of the episode "Scar" is Starbuck and Kat having your classic macho one-upmanship match, which secretly hides the fact that they wanna get in each other's pants. I remember lots of "in your face" scenes where they are both sweaty and mussed and breathing heavily.

Also, I remember some unusually strong Reyes/Scully vibes in X-Files seasons 8 & 9, but I honestly couldn't point you toward any specific moments. Same with Dana and Natalie from SportsNight.

And then of course there's Wonderfalls, which has an episode devoted to Jaye's stalker, who subsequently tries to take over her life. That was slashy in places; although of course Wonderfalls also has my favorite canon lesbian, Sharon Tyler.

The 2006 BBC Robin Hood had scenes like this where things like this get said - Much: Master, no. You cannot go back in there. If you go back in and die, then I will die. Of grief. So you must come now, if only to save me.
Robin: See, that is why I love you.

And basically Much's face any time Robin is threatened with anything. There's a reason why everyone I watch it with wants to retitle it 'The Many Adventures of Much'.

On the femme-slash front there's the weaving scene with Servilla and Octavia from the first season of Rome.

Joining the Heroes party, the scene where Claude hides Peter from Mohinder and Nathan (see icon) has always been my favorite "Um, guys? Guys?" moment for them. I also found the stick fighting in Unexpected to be full of subtexty goodness, as is the Car Ride of Doom in Company Man (Claude's body language in that scene, especially).

Is no one going to mention Smallville? Hourglass, Zero, Jitter, and Heat are always my favorite slash sources there; the long stare in Hourglass and Clark's look of dejection when Lex walks by him in Heat are always gold.

Tombstone is pure slash. The two bedside scenes, Wyatt holding Doc when he collapses outside Hooker's ranch, the aftermath of the duel with Ringo, take your pick.:)
