Catching Up On Spooks

andrasteOh, Harry, I <3 you. What does it take to make you finally tell your lame government where it can put its stupid orders? A dire threat to the National Health Service! No wonder your Communist friend thought he could turn you back in the day - you have to watch out for that fuzzy liberal side of yours.
Not that it's in any danger of getting out of hand, given the reaction to Ruth's Feminism 101 lecture about his non-inclusive use of 'brotherhood'. Hee.
I know from icons that at some point Ruth and Harry do finally snog, so now I am even more inclined to shout 'WILL YOU JUST SHAG ALREADY?!' every time they have a significant moment. And wow, there have been a lot of them this year. I guess the writers finally got on the same page as the actors where that relationship is concerned.
I'd heard a lot of grumbling about Season Four from fannish and non-fannish sources, but I've enjoyed it. Sure, some of the plots are silly, but when have some of the plots on this show not been silly? And I actually like the fact that there are a lot of cast changes. Working for MI-5 is stressful and dangerous, after all.

Date: 2007-05-27 03:54 am (UTC)As of this morning, I have now finished the season. Adam has been shot by a crazy woman, oh noes! Will have to find *ahem*ing source for Season Five ASAP.
You know, I think I've enjoyed the last two seasons more than the first two over all. It's not that I didn't like Tom, but hearing about his personal life made me want to throw things at the screen. I do miss the hell out of Zoe and Danny, though.

Date: 2007-05-28 12:51 am (UTC)Seasons 3 & 4 were my favorites too -- as I like Adam and Danny and Harry and Zoe best, and am also a big fan of Fiona and Juliet and Zaf. That. . isn't exactly meant to sound like "anybody but Tom," but I did find, as you alluded, that the stories about his love life tended to stop the show dead -- while the other characters were integrated a bit better.
