Random Seventh Doctor Quote

Reading during dead time at work, and just had to share this bit from The
Algebra of Ice. The Doctor is discussing his regeneneration with a human
he's recently met:

"Do you have any choice about how you look?"

"Unfortunately no. I usually come out a bit odd, though my third and fifth
incarnations weren't bad. I admit that at some point I'd like to be really
handsome. Petty vanity, but there you are."

"Why do you have a Scots accent?"

"I have no idea. Came with the package."

I don't know what amuses me more: that even Seven has no idea WTF is up with
the accent, that he would be happy to know he regenerates into Paul McGann,
or that he is GAY FOR THREE.

Hee. I'm pretty sure there's an audio where Benny sees Eight and is rather keen ("so... you planning on regenerating into him any time soon?"), to Seven's annoyance.

Shadow of the Scourge, which has all sorts of interesting tidbits about the Psychology of Seven... not surprisingly, since Paul Cornell penned it, IIRC.

At the end, Seven teases Benny quite mercilessly about the hot-for-Eight thing. It's pretty hysterical.

Think he'd be happy to know about Tennant as well, though I must agree that Paul McGann was almost the pinnacle of yum. Of course, I have a Thing for Eccles, so what do I know? Funny about the accent, though--kinda shines a new light on Nine's "Lots of planets have a north!" in "Rose," of course.

Heh. Well, Threee and Four both thought of themselves as dashing, charming, and all-around great, so that's probably how he remembers them. :)
