So, due to that pesky ocean in the way and a lack of funds, I have been unable to attend VividCon. (Although I do have a plan to do so next year, if I can save up enough on my theoretically soon to increase salary.) However, due to the wonders of DVD, I have been able to watch the Premieres show anyway!

[livejournal.com profile] lokisrose and I sat down and saw the whole thing together yesterday. These are my honest first reactions, without going back to review anything, so don't expect any depth in the commentary. Before I begin, I'd like to say that the bar is set incredibly high this year. A lot of this is just mindless squeeing. I have no idea how I'm going to live up to these vids in 2008!

We skipped the BSG vids because I'm avoiding spoilers, and Dreams Are Not My Home because [livejournal.com profile] lokisrose hasn't seen the end of Torchwood Season One yet.

Later on when I've watched the rest of the discs systematically, I may come back and point out a few of my favourites.

All right, so feeling all inspired by my VividCon disks, I've started planning out a multifandom slash vid I've had in mind for a while now. But I need more source!

So, I ask you, what are your favourite slashy moments in your favourite TV shows and movies? And when I say 'slashy' I mean things that even clueless fanboys look at and say 'dude, that is pretty gay!' Perfect example: the 'buddy breathing' in due South. I especially need femslash moments, because I am much less good at spotting/remembering those compared with teh boyslash.

([livejournal.com profile] lokisrose, that scene I couldn't find yesterday? Has been staring right at me from a show we watch. I am an idiot for not thinking of it sooner.)

So, Londo and G'Kar turned up in my dreams last night. There was vague tentacle pr0n and Londo was helping G'Kar cook. And by 'helping' I mean G'Kar was forced to hit him with a spoon *g*. I think my muses are telling me that they want some attention.

So does screen canon ever make so much as a stab at establishing how old either of them are? Or how old Centauri are when they have their Ascension Days ...? B5 chronology makes my brain hurt, especially when I try to work out how old the aliens are meant to be chronologically.

The problem is that when the aliens say 'years' we can't necessarily assume they mean Earth years. For example, the B5 chronology gives the date of Londo's Ascension as 2229, counting back thirty years from the anniversary in 2259. But surely he must be counting thirty Centauri years, not thirty Earth years!

Basically, I'm trying to work out how old Londo would have been when G'Kar was spending his youth as a freedom fighter. Is there anything in canon that would determine this one way or another?
