Doctor Who: Fugitive of the Judoon

I think that all I have to say about the plot at this point is '?????????????' and also '!!!!!!!!!!!!!' Which I imagine is right where Chibnall wants me to be, so kudos for that I guess. I am reserving all judgement about this storyline until we see more of it.

Oh, except for the judgement on Jo Martin, who makes a magnificent Doctor, however that actually turns out to work. And her Doctor costume, which is glorious. We had better see more of both. And I am glad there was a plot reason for Gallifrey to be gone again.

The episode itself was entertaining enough, although the pacing was weird in parts due to the companions having essentially nothing to do. Except Jack Harkness, bless his cotton socks.

The funny part is that Tumblr had spoiled me for Jack's reappearance with it's irritating 'here's a post your might like!' function, so when I saw all the surprised reactions going around I thought I'd already had it ruined for me. But: nope! Not really in the top five most shocking swerves in this episode!

Yes, I saw some warnings to make sure to avoid spoilers for this one (which, paradoxically, is a thing that can be a little bit spoilery in itself), and figured when Jack showed up that must be the reason why. But, nope, they were only just getting started!

She was amazing!! I was delighted by that twist, and yeah, that fantastic costume.

I clocked that she was the fugitive very quickly - Lee was just way too suspicious to be the actual target - and that she was a rogue Time Lord using a Chameleon Arch as soon as Gat said Lee was her 'faithful companion.' But I had absolutely no clue about the real twist until Thirteen hit the TARDIS with that shovel. Amazing!

Much like that outfit, which debuted extremely high up in my 'favourite things the Doctor has ever worn' list.
