So, still not enthusiastic about going to the forest or home to the mountains, Wulfric decided to take Alistair to Redcliffe and try their luck there. He was slightly horrified to find out that Alistair was the heir to the throne (he does not think he'd make a good king even by human standards which are clearly terrible already) and more horrified by all the undead. However, he did develop a bit more respect for humans after helping them fight off all the skeletons overnight, even if he still thought their need for a blessing from the Chantry was weird. Just ask your ancestors for their favour like normal people, humans! His opinion on surface dwarves did not improve, however, when he had to pay Dwyn to fight. A few people died - including Ser Perth who just insisted on running into the fire - but Redcliffe made it through another night. That just left the castle to deal with. After hearing the rest of the details of the poisoning plot from Jowan (he'd already confronted Berwick) he headed upstairs to find Isolde and Connor.
Wulfric wanted the demon gone fast before it could do any more damage, so there was no way he was going to run off to the Circle to look for help. I mean, you and I know that this has no negative consequences whatsoever, but he doesn't know that. Since Jowan was still alive and Isolde seemed willing to make the sacrifice, he chose her death over killing Connor. Nobody was very happy with this outcome, and he got some disapproval from everyone he took with him - Alistair, Shale and Wynne in this case - but it seemed like the best of a poor set of choices to him. Luckily Wynne beat the demon and Connor was set free. (This was definitely the moment I realised that I should probably have given Wynne a few offensive spells somewhere along the way. Oh well, paralysing the demons and killing them with auto attacks also works? After this I invested in the lightning tree so she'd be able to zap mobs if necessary.)
Of course, resolving the demon issue didn't solve the larger problem: saving Arl Eamon. Wulfric was incredulous that Teagan expected him to run off looking for a burned corpsed in a jar, and even more incredulous that this would help, but then, by this point he'd seen enough magic to think that there was some chance it might help. And since he clearly needed Eamon to deal with Loghain, he didn't see that he had much choice.
However, the day was not all a waste. While on the road to Denerim to track down brother Genetivi, this happened.

... and while Wulfric really should have just stabbed the assassin on the spot somehow the jokes won him over and he found himself picking up a very handsome elf and making him part of the team. Really, I'm not surprised Alistair thought he'd taken leave of his senses.
