Yuletide Nominations!

This is the quickest I've ever been at nominating - for a change, I already had my fandoms sorted before nominations opened, and I happened to be on LJ when the post opened, so I had it done within the first ten minutes. After a little horse-trading over which characters to include, all I need to do is sit back and wait for the tag set to be revealed.

For the sake of record-keeping, I nominated:

The Mysterious Cities of Gold
The Secret World
Jago & Litefoot
Those Who Hunt the Night - Barbara Hambly

Not sure about the tag for that last one, since the rest of the web seems to refer to it as the James Asher series, but that's what the AO3 has as the title. Makes me happy, anyway, since I don't see why James gets the series named after him. I know he's the POV character in the first book, but it could just as easily be the 'Lydia Asher Series' or the 'Don Simon Xavier Christian Morado de la Cadena-Ysidro Series' or the 'James/Lydia/Simon OT3 4Eva Series'. (No prizes for guessing what my request will look like, although I'd be happy with anything about the World's Most Sensible Vampire Love Triangle.)

I'm very happy that we'll be able to request six things this year, and scanning the nominations post to try and work out what else to ask for. Saga, maybe? Although Lying Cat is not in the character list so far.

This year, there will be Kerbals! Well, there will at least be Kerbals nominated *g*.

First of all, you might want to go here and check if what you want has been nominated by other people. (The spreadsheet doesn't have everything, but it gives you some idea.) I don't see Kerbal Space Program or The Third Man, though. Don't try to read the whole thing unless you're having a really slow day at work.

Then you need to go here and log in on the AO3 to nominate your tiny fandoms of choice. (Do you have an account already? If not, just let me know and I'll sent you a code!) You can nominate up to four things, and four characters for each thing, but you don't have to use all your slots. If you just want to add one or two fandoms and a couple of characters for each, that's fine.

Keep in mind you will need to request at least four different fandoms (you can make up to six requests this year) and offer to write five. (I don't think this will be a problem, though, because I see lots of things you like on the spreadsheet already.) If you have any trouble with the nomination form, just let me know and I'll decode its mysteries for you.

The third step is completely optional - go here and make a comment telling other people what you nominated so that nobody doubles up.
