Livejournal Fail (The Most Recent One)

So, Livejournal have created a new version of their friends page. Once implemented, this will mean that it's no longer possible for people to view friends pages in their own style. Once that happens, I will no longer be able to read my LJ friends list at all - the default colour scheme is migraine inducing for me. (The implementation of infinite scroll also means it won't load on my phone or notebook PC. Good job all round, lj!)

I think it is probably time for me to leave LJ altogether, although I know that would inconvenience people I want to stay in touch with. Physical pain is kind of a deal-breaker, though :(. I'm not sure I'm willing to check journals one at a time to avoid the problem, especially since some of those are likely to be in the default style anyway.

::sigh:: I tried the new version for about 30 seconds and then I started to get a headache. Ugh. I really don't want to switch to DW full time, but it looks like that's in the cards.

Yeah when it starts being manditory it looks like I'll be leaving LJ too. I really don't wanna but I like my dark theme! Also my computer is touchy about infinite scroll beyond a certain point.

I put up with a lot LJ but that's really all I can cope with. ^^o

I could see implementing this as an option for users, but even on tumblr, it's an option and a fair few people set theirs up so that it still has pages.

It seems like such a useless move on their part, but I don't think I've understood their moves for a while now.

Someone linked this tutorial on setting up an rss feed to follow your LJ friends list, though I've no idea how well it works as a solution.

I only have about five folks left who update their LJ; for me it is no great hardship. But I avoid the site like the plague. I wish communities would switch, but for dying fandoms like Fringe that ain't gonna happen.
