Doctor Who: Let's Kill Hitler

I haven't been posting much about Doctor Who this series, mainly because when it was on I wasn't posting about much of anything. (It is certainly not from lack of enjoyment.) I just wanted to single out something I loved about this episode, though.
I mean, it's not as though there's only one thing I loved: highlights included Mels, Rory's face when he realises that Amy thinks he's gay, Amy's face when she realises that Rory is not gay, and Rory punching Hitler and shoving him in a cupboard. (Which was the perfect way to handle Hitler in televised Doctor Who. I'm glad nobody felt the need to give us a lecture on how evil he was; River's 'the Third Reich's a bit rubbish, isn't it?' also struck just the right note.) My favorite part of The Brilliant Book of Doctor Who was the Lone Centurion spending the thirties covering London with leaflets that said 'don't listen to Hitler, he's rubbish' so I especially appreciated that Rory got to do the punching.
My favourite thing, though, is that with thirty-one minutes to live the Doctor decided that his time could best be spent finding his wedding clothes and a sonic cane. It's both wonderfully frivolous (because if he's going to die he'll die looking fabulous, dammit) and unobtrusively calculating (because he knows that the only way he'll live is if he can impress Melody/Mels/River enough to get her to bring him back.) Seeing him leaning against the TARDIS in that outfit, I just felt this surge of overwhelming love for Eleven, and Matt Smith carries the moment off perfectly.
Incidentally, I think that what the Doctor whispered when dying was his real name and that he loved River, in that order. The first part because it would explain Ten's comment that there's only one way she could have found out that information (which would mean that he's always known she'd be there when he died) and the second part because River's 'I'm sure she'll know' in response makes the most sense if that was the last thing he said. I think he's just about got time to get out all thirty-eight syllables and a quick 'I love her' at the end.
