Thefted from [livejournal.com profile] vilakins, a life experience meme where I actually understand every line! The American ones always seem to ask about SATs and other strange American things.

1. Heard a kookaburra in person. Dude, when I was three, one stole a bun right out of my hand. I was traumatised for years.
2. Slept under the stars. Directly under them? Not really. Unless passing out on the lawn at a certain New Year's party count?
3. Seen a koala. And held one, very carefully. They're mean little buggers.
4. Visited Melbourne. *looks out window at grey Melbourne sky* I have lived here ten years now, so that would be a yes.
5. Watched a summer thunderstorm.
6. Worn a pair of thongs.
7. Been to Uluru (Ayer's Rock)
8. Visited Cape York.
9. Held a snake.
10. Sang along with Khe San.
11. Drank VB. Eeeew. They make take away my citizenship for this, but I hate beer.
12. Visited Sydney.
13. Have seen a shark. In captivity, but yes.
14. Have used Aussie (and NZ) slang naturally in a conversation.
15. Had an actual conversation with an indigenous Australian (Aboriginal). This struck me as an odd question until it occurred to me that not everyone went to school with indigenous kids. The boy I had a completely pointless crush on through the latter half of my teenage years was Aboriginal.
16. Eaten hot chips from the bag at the beach.
17. Walked/climbed over the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
18. Used an outside dunny, and checked under the seat before sitting down. My grandmother still has an outside toilet to this day.
19. Seen Chloe in Young & Jackson's. I walk past her at least a couple of times a week.
20. Slept on an overnight train or bus.
21. Been to Sydney's Mardi Gras
22. Have gone bush-bashing. With a four-wheel drive? No. If you mean on foot, many times.
23. Taken a sickie.
24. Been to see a game of Aussie Rules football. My citizenship is in peril again for missing this one.
25. Have seen wild camels.
26. Gone skinny dipping.
27. Done a Tim Tam Slam. I ask you, why waste perfectly good Tim Tams by getting them soggy?
28. Ridden in a tram in Melbourne.
29. Been at an ANZAC day Dawn Service. Do I get a bonus point for playing the Last Post?
30. Watched a sunrise or sunset.
31. Held a wombat. I patted one, does that count? They don't really like being picked up, in my experience.
32. Been on a roadtrip of 800km or more.
33. Seen the Great Australian Bight in person.
34. Had a really bad sunburn.
35. Visited an Aboriginal community.
36. Seen a redback spider. And had one crawl over my hand, once.
37. Have watched Paul Hogan.
38. Seen Blue Poles in person. I once spent half an hour chilling in front of this painting, while waiting for my family in the art gallery. It's an incredible work.
39. Wandered barefoot in the bush/outback. Having been raised in the country, I would never do that. Never mind the snakes and spiders, the bull ants are bad enough.
40. Eaten Vegemite.
41. Thrown a boomerang.
42. Seen the Kimberleys.
43. Given a hitch-hiker a lift.
44. Been to Perth.
45. Have tried Lemon, Lime and Bitters. You mean other places don't have this? That's awful! One of my favourite drinks.
46. Tried playing a didgeridoo.
47. Seen dinosaur footprints.
48. Eaten Tim Tams.
49. Been to Darwin.
50. Touched a kangaroo.
51. Visted the Great Barrier Reef.
52. Listened to Kevin Bloody Wilson. Not if I can help it, but he has occasionally been inflicted on me.

62. Gone whale watching.
63. Listened to Slim Dusty
64. Own five or more Australian movies or TV series.
65. Sang along to Down Under.
66. Have stopped specifically to look at an historic marker by the side of the road.
My dad loved to do this on long car trips.
67. Eaten a 4'n'20 pie. For my sins. There are much, much better meat pies out there.
68. Surfed at Bondi.
69. Watched the cricket on Boxing Day. If by 'watched' you mean 'you were in the room and it was on.'
70. Visited Hobart.
71. Eaten kangaroo.
Delicious, healthy and environmentally friendly. Hard to cook well, though.
72. Seen a quokka.
73. Visited Canberra.

74. Visited rainforests.
75. Used a Victa lawnmower.
76. Travelled on a tram in Adelaide. They only have the one, and for a Melbournian it's not very interesting as a tourist experience.
77. Used a Hills hoist.
78. Visited Kata Tjuta
79. Used native Australian plants in cooking.
80. Visited the snow. It occurs to me that this must seem like a strange phrase to people who live in colder places, but in Australia the snow is indeed something one goes to visit *g*.
81. Chosen a side in Holden VS Ford. I don't care about cars.
82. Visited the desert.
83. Been water skiing
84. Read The Phantom. As in the Ghost Who Walks? Yes.

90. Called someone a dag.
91. Voted in a Federal Election.
92. Have been swimming and stayed between the flags.

93. Had a possum in your roof. No, but there's one that likes to hang out in the tree outside my window and make possum-y noises. I assume it does live in the roof, but since I'm in the downstairs flat I don't hear it way up there.
94. Visited the outback.
95. Travelled over corrugated roads.
96. Hit a kangaroo while driving. I don't drive, and my parents are careful motorists.
97. Been well outside any mobile phone coverage. This does not take much.
98. Seen an emu.
99. Have woken to the smell of bushfires. Luckily a bushfire has never woken me up. I have smelled them, though.

I am amused by #102, only because it's one of the few things that I, as an American, could bold. They're amazing live.
