I tend to consider 'things on the front of the newspaper' and 'spoilers' to be mutually exclusive categories, but just in case ...



My take? Tennant's right, this is the time for him to go. I always thought that he must be keenly aware of Troughton's three year rule, so this is what I was expecting to get from day one. The year of specials is just gravy. It would have been nice to see what Moffat might have done with Ten, but much as I adore this Doctor he's had a good run.

I am really, really hoping those rumours about Donna showing up in one of the specials are true, because if we don't get her storyline resolves in a satisfactory way within the next year, we'll probably never hear from her again. I suspect Moffat will be more interested in introducing his own companions and supporting cast than in checking up on how the old crew are doing.

Now I just want the follow-up news that Patterson Joseph has signed on the dotted line! I don't think I could possibly love Eleven as much as I've loved Ten, but the casting of Joseph would be a damn good start.
