I am torn about moving from livejournal. I have no strong personal investment in the issue at hand, since, I doubt I've ever produced fanwork that would get me TOSed.

On the other hand, half my friendslist seem to be moving because of their appalling failure at customer relations, and obviously if you lot go I'll have to go with you. My preferred username was taken on Greatest Journal, but I have set up on Insane Journal just in case. Anyone planning to go somewhere else that I should know about?

It annoys me that I don't know if my past and future pornographic stories are acceptable to livejournal or not. What if I write pr0n about a character who is only a week old, but also a giant robot? Or a character who appears to be fifteen but is actually several thousand years old? Can I trust lj not to TOS me if someone reports me for writing either of the above scenarios? I need clarification!

I know what you mean. LJ has managed to create a climate of fear among a large number of my fandom-related groups, and it's not really a place I want to stick around in if that's how they want to play it. Add to that their recent pro-ana comments and their answer for the accusation of homophobia ("but some of our best friends are gay!") and... it's looking like it'll be a lot easier (in the long run) if we up and move.

There's talk of getting scribblit or some other fandom-run initiative launched. I don't know if you're watching [livejournal.com profile] fandom_flies, but it might be worth a look. (Btw, I'm 'kangeiko' at both GJ and IJ).

I'm waiting on Scribblit to see where I'll jump -- what's certain is that I will be moving. I have accounts at GJ and IJ under the same username as this one. IJ is more secure (people have been tossed off GJ before under similar circumstances) but I hate the way the site looks.

Are they starting in with that nonsense AGAIN!? It seems like everyone who is bailing LJ winds up at different "other" online journals. I'd have to get 15 accounts at 15 different places to keep up with all of them, and frankly, I'm not willing to do it. I'd hate to see good journals and commenters go away simply because it would take too much online logistics just to keep tabs on them all.

I have a Greatest Journal account I set up "just in case" from the last time, but haven't touched it since the day I made it. That'll probably start annoying GJ that people like me have done so.

A friend of mine has decided he's going to set up a Dutch site, especially for fandom, though not limited to fandom. Anyone who wants to come along would be great, and we can promise no porn etc problems, since we're not US/UK based...

I'm on IJ and GJ as well, my preference being IJ at the moment.

The problem with Scribblit will be that it's US based as well, so there will be restrictions :(

I recommend Insane Journal, simply because of This Thread (http://asylums.insanejournal.com/announcements/34249.html), which the admin says "We understand why a lot of you are coming over here, and we do not believe in censorship beyond the letter of the law. We will not remove any content from the site unless we receive an official DMCA take down notice or are contacted by an official law enforcement or other legal agency."

I have yet to sign up there (partly because I'm waiting to see what my flist will do/where they will go), but it seems like a nice and friendly place =) Squeaky (the admin) mentioned that s/he was wondering how many lawsuits LJ fucked up by suspending/deleting accounts (aka evidence) without ever being told to take it down for legal purposes.
