In this thrilling instalment, even more daddy issues. More than that, it's all about trust and connections.

The central moment of the episode is when Peter uses his powers fully for the first time and realises that it's his connections to others that give him that power. Paradoxically, Claude's advice - and his, er, dramatic way of encouraging Peter to fly - provide the key to this realisation.

Elsewhere, Hiro has to convince his father that his big sister is the right person to take over the family business so he can keep trying to save the world. In doing so, he proves not only that his sister is more suited to the job anyway, but that she's not the only smart one in the family *g*. (And oh, Ando, you are such a dork. Have you ever even spoken to a girl? In your entire life?)

Sylar is gloriously evil, using Sandra's trusting nature to inveigle his way into her house and score several glasses of iced tea while he plots to kill her. (I was terrified something bad would happen to Mr. Muggles. And it's not like I even like the little fluffball, particularly, but bad things happening to animals always upsets me.) My entirely predictable love for Mr. Bennet - evil writers, teasing us with his first name! - grows by the episode. One moment he's storming through the door with a gun to save his wife, the next he's having his 'friend' mindwipe her. He lies to his daughter about everything, but you never doubt that he loves her. You're so right, Selena, he is just like a blend of Jack and Sloane. Have you, perchance, written the obvious Alias crossover ...?

Meanwhile, Claire visits some imaginary manatees so that she can see her real mother. I cracked up when she told Zach she'd always imagined her parents living in a New York penthouse. Hey, she was half right! I can only imagine the explosion this must have caused in fandom at the time.

Claude demonstrates to Peter that he can't trust Simone by showing that Simone still cares for Isaac. Meanwhile, nobody should trust Isaac because he's still talking to Mr. Bennet. (I did wonder how he got away from Primatech so easily ...)

Back in Las Vegas, it's herself and her other half that Niki can't trust. I raised an eyebrow at Mr. Linderman's manipulation of the justice system - surely Jessica's assault on the psychologist and guards has to count for something? - but then we obviously don't know the full story about Linderman.
