Black Orchid was just so weird, wasn't it? I'm glad it's not just me who thinks that. Good weird, but weird.
It's really, really weird. The first pure historical since the sixties, and the last so far. Not to mention the Fifth Doctor and his companions actually enjoying themselves for a change. It's like the script fell through from another universe.
