I think what's worrying people is that Davies relationship to Who is being painted in the general media in the light of the modern US auteur-theory of series TV (Bochco, Sorkin, Straczynski, Whedon, Chase, Moore etc) and that this attitude might cause both the media and maybe the BBC to assume that anyone else's work could only be a pale imitation of Davies at best.
