My Top 111 Doctor Who Stories
Apr. 3rd, 2007 01:23 amThis morning, I finished watching The Gunfighters. This means that I have now seen - or heard, in cases where the BBC burned the film - every Doctor Who story ever broadcast! There are a few individual episodes I've not caught up with, like the flaws in an Amish quilt, but I'm still boggled that I've managed this in just a few short years.
(For the record: not seen the animated bits of The Invasion, or the last episode of The Dominators. Also missed half an episode of Arc of Infinity somehow. Not planning to rectify the latter two oversights any time soon.)
To celebrate, a ridiculously long list! The obvious question is 'why?' Well, why not? If you're going to make a list of favourite stories, why not list them all?
As for 'why 111?', the answer is: because that's how many favourite Doctor Who stories I have today. Tomorrow it may have increased to 112, since there are many audios, books, comics and short stories I've yet to catch up with.

Date: 2007-04-02 06:31 pm (UTC)I've seen all the TV series when they were first broadcast, with the exception of part of one Jon Pertwee season when I got fed up with the monotony of the Doctor, stuck on Earth, helping UNIT to destroy a succession of invading monsters. I may also have missed the odd episode here and there when I was away on holiday. But I've rewatched comparatively few stories.

Date: 2007-04-03 01:27 am (UTC)Great list! I've not seen/read/heard half of it, but I can tell it's a great list.
Soooo... "Deep Blue" is on your list, but I see no sign of "The Crystal Bucephalus"-- definitely my favorite Five novel :)
Compleatly Unrelated (again)
Date: 2007-04-04 01:01 am (UTC)Thanks for the Yami sound track. Could you please send me (or post for the world to see) the list of songs and the reasons behind them, please. I have made my own assumptions but would like to know what you were thinking.
Thanking you
