Meanwhile, it's been a whole year since Season One was airing and the fanboy tears have not become less hilarious.

(I think this is one of those things like people accusing BioWare of 'ramming the gay agenda down their throats' that I will never not find funny.)

I am enjoying Free! so much. It seems to really know the demographic it's aiming for-- and wouldn't have been renewed for a second season if it wasn't working out for the studio, would it?

I only started watching it because the idea of the angry babyman tears made me so happy, but I found it unexpectedly charming. (Apparently all I needed to overcome my aversion to sports and high school slice-of-life antics was a bunch of bishonen who hate shirts and stare at each other meaningfully all the time.)

I'm trying to work out if my recent favourite is 'this anime has made bro fisting too gay for straight dudes' or 'everyone who likes this anime is secretly a gay man.'

I feel like "Anime About Attractive People Taking Their Shirts Off And Hugging Unexpectedly Popular" should be an Onion headline *g*.

Season Two is lovely so far! I was a little worried that it might get repetitive, but there's enough character and relationship development going on that it doesn't feel the same as the first season.
