Woo hoo! I knew you'd love this one as much as I did.
Given the elements and cast involved, I'd probably have enjoyed it even if it was a mess. But no! It was actually a good film, in addition to containing two Charles Xaviers and time travel!
Raven: amen, amen, amen. Like I told you, I want all the Raven & Charles fic even more than I did the last time around.
You and me both.
Also now I can understand why in the original timeline Mystique did what she did in X1 and X2 re: Charles (after getting experimented on by Trask), while being sure she wouldn't in the new timeline (hence alive Jean and Scott).
Yes. Especially since she probably knows - or eventually finds out - Charles was moping and wearing out his copy of L.A. Woman while Trask was torturing and killing mutants. (A situation which her leaving him on the beach contributed to, but I can see how that would not make her feel any better.)
My thoughts precisely. And lo, [personal profile] lonelywalker just posted a lovely Hank/Charles tale that captures all of this beautifully.
It is indeed delightful! Furry hugs are the best hugs.
JFK's mutant power: that seems to be the popular guess. Did brother Bobby have one, too, I wonder?
Good question! It's possible that JFK could, I don't know, turn people into chickens, but I can see why everyone is jumping on the idea of a superpower he seemed to actually have even in our universe *g*.
re: Mystique aging more slowly, doesn't Hank say as much in First Class?
Yep. He says she ages at roughly half human speed. So maybe Quicksilver does the opposite?
What made Charles shape up again in the original timeline: methinks a combination of things - the war was over, hence return of some students and teachers, Raven killed someone live on tv, and he may have tried in vain to find her, and possibly the drug stopped working anyway.
Yeah, all of that may have contributed. It occurs to me that Stryker says that poor Jason is ten years old, so within a few years he's going to be manifesting his powers and Charles will be unsuccessfully trying to help him :(.
