Oh my God, READ MY REVIEW! I said such similar things: http://monanotlisa.livejournal.com/638389.html

I'd raised an eyebrow at the producers' decision to reveal the great Japanese hero Kensei as a white bloke, but having seen him in action, my concerns have been somewhat allayed. Especially since I suspect that Hiro may end up being the heroic Kensei that history records - he knows the script, and it would be plausible for him to decide that the 'real' Kensei isn't up to the job. Also, Yaeko is meant to be Kensei's princess, and we all saw the look Hiro gave her when she took that sword and marched off to save her father. I like Yaeko already - Hiro has the best love interests.

Seriously!

Of course, it might take a while for Peter to get back to his family if he doesn't remember who he is! And if I found a half-naked Peter Petrelli handcuffed inside a box, I would not be whining that he wasn't a crate of ipods. I'm just sayin'.

*giggle* The Irish(?!) thugs didn't look like fangirls, though.

In Los Angeles, Claire is trying to move on with her life. Her loving father tells her to blend in, but it's obvious that a girl like her could never fade into the background.

Word. Oh, word.

"I miss Mohinder. He cooked." Awwwwwwww.

I KNOW!

I'm wondering if Matt's divorce is the writers' way of removing a character who really didn't work for the show last season, although I would like more information about that, because last we checked his wife was pregnant. I can see why he'd leave his wife, but running off to New York and leaving his unborn child behind seems out of character to me. Maybe he found out the baby wasn't his? I'll wait for more information.

Not sure we'll get any; the show seems plenty occupied with moving forward, not with looking back. But you're right, OOC.

Speaking of elements of the show that didn't work so well last season, no sign of Niki here. Maybe it was just the number of plot lines struggling for attention in the first episode, but I don't think it's an accident that she was given lower priority than the other regulars. Personally, I don't want them dropping her story - I liked the way her arc ended in How To Stop An Exploding Man even though I thought it dragged horribly in the middle.

A resounding yes. I'm so glad someone besides me hasn't forgotten her and is a little displeased.

I haven't really formed an opinion on her as a character yet, but her story and powers seem interesting so far. Having the ability to accidentally kill trucks full of people sucks if you're not the kind of person who wants to kill lots of people. Also, yay for more women of colour in the show!

Exactly! And again, read my comment. I do hope she gets a hang of it, like, YESTERDAY and can start taking an active role.
