Heroes 1x04: Collisions

Last one of the day; I'm going to answer some comments and then go to bed. Assuming I can sleep not knowing what happens next ...

The fall-out from Claire's temporary case of death is probably the best part of this episode, as her character arc takes off in an entirely unexpected direction. Loved her interaction with her dad, who seems to genuinely care for her even if he is PURE EVIL. As for Brody, all I can say is it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. I may not be in favour of the death penalty, but if a woman you tried to rape, killed and dumped in a river comes back from the dead and crashes your car into a wall, this may be regarded as poetic justice.

And oh, Great Maker, the continuing adventures of Hiro and Ando are great fun. Hiro should have countered Ando's Peter Parker remark by pointing out that very bad things happened when Peter tried to use his power for personal gain through professional wrestling. With great power comes great responsibility! Those were some really nice matching suits, though.

Mohinder finally gets to meet someone with powers and ... it's Peter Petrelli, who is completely useless unless he's standing next to someone else with powers. No wonder everyone thinks he's losing it *g*. Like the Mimic (member of the Brotherhood of Mutants, for the non X-perts among you) he'll be phenomenal if he ever gets in a room full of people with abilities, though.

Although heaven knows what the result would be if he ever went near Niki - so it's her alternate personality who has the powers? (That was a rhetorical question; obviously I'll find out in due course.)

The cliffhangers just keep coming - eek! Hiro from the future with a message!

I'm still not saying anything about Mr. Bennet.*g*

Claire: told you so!

Niki: okay, then I will not answer rethorically. Just say that back when first watching this, I thought she was probably the female version of the Hulk.

The next episode is the fabulous Hiros, which I recently rewatched and wrote at length about (http://selenak.livejournal.com/296107.html), which you can read once you've watched it.

Yay Claire! And yeah, her relationship with her EVIL DAD is great, isn't it?

Yes, quite--but isn't it cute that Ando knows enough to make the argument? Clearly he's been listening to Hiro babble about American comics long enough to absorb some of it. Or possibly Hiro dragged him to the movies.

(And I have to admit, my next reaction was along the lines of "Look, boys, if you must cheat, cheat sensibly! I don't care if they can't tell how you're doing it, winning all the time is a very bad idea!" Shiny powers are just no substitute for a little common sense.)
