It doesn't always help, but I think that quite often, if someone involved in the production is a fan of the source it sort of shines through, for example Michael Chiklis is probably the best thing about the Fantastic Four films and he's apparently a huge Ben Grimm fan, and it shows.

Yeah. About the only thing that I don't like about the rumour of a FF reboot is the possibility of losing Michael Chiklis - he's just perfect for the part. You can see his love of the character shine through the performance.

Here's hoping Jame McAvoy learned something good from all those cartoons!
