Actually, come to think about it, I really have to qualify the Saward thing... I love the 5th Doctor era, but the 6th Doctor era annoys me mightily. I don't have a problem with the darker direction it took, though, so much as I did with the fact that most of the writing sucked. Or with the fact that they fiddled the Doctor's "contrast" and "brightness" knobs so much that his negative qualities almost completely washed out his positive ones. (Possibly we should blame the coat. :))
