I hope you end up writing more in DS. This was both heartbreaking and well done.
Usually when I start writing so early in my viewing it's a good sign that I'll write more later. (Although I will try to hold off until I've seen everything.)
I like that you seem to be raising the question again of whether the DS ghosts are actual ghosts or imagination; is Fraser blaming Ray or just pointing out Ray is blaming himself, and if the former, is that a Fraser thing to do? DS is probably best on that line between fantasy and reality.
Yeah, I didn't want to cross over it one way or the other. Maybe Fraser is really there, and maybe he's not. Maybe he blames Ray, and maybe he's just pointing out that Ray blames Ray.
And you made the transition to dead!Fraser very well -- until he disappeared I had no clue, and was a little thrown off by the little seemed that seemed out of place (Why would Fraser suggest he would have to walk? Is it just so she could write him be quaint and saying 'That's just silly, Ray'? -- I'm glad you proved my faith in you right.) and by the end, the feel of it and Ray's thoughts and Dief, the idea of ghost Fraser seems somehow entirely organic to the show.
Thank you, I'm glad you feel I pulled that off. I wanted Dead!Fraser to be just strange enough that people would feel something odd was going on, but not enough for them to guess what. And of course dead men can't buy plane tickets *g*.
This is a lot of rambling just to say that, hey! I liked this.
I'm glad that you did, and thank you kindly for the feedback.
